Hopes Arms, Louisiana: Roleplay Community Rules
Welcome to Hopes Arms, a family-oriented, inclusive roleplay community set in a richly immersive, character-driven version of Louisiana. We are proud to offer a space for storytelling across many forms of identity and imagination — from humans and furries to aliens and animals. To keep our community safe, respectful, and enjoyable for all, please carefully review and follow the rules below.
Character Guidelines
- Child Avatars must behave in age-appropriate ways in both public RP and community interactions.
- Pets and Animals are non-verbal unless:
- They have a detailed backstory explaining their ability to speak.
- They are in private homes, where public RP rules may be relaxed.
- Anthro / Animal Avatars running businesses must have a viable backstory that justifies their role (e.g., sentience, augmentation, magic).
🏢 Business and Age Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older and in an adult form to own or run a business.
- Adult animal forms must meet the backstory requirements listed above.
⚒️ Sim Structure & RP Governance
- Sim Owner holds final authority on all major decisions.
- All major RP events, community changes, or plans must be approved by the Sim Owner and relevant Department Heads.
- Large events should be planned and communicated well in advance.
- Sim-wide RP arcs are encouraged but must be pre-approved.
🤝 Community Conduct
- Treat everyone with respect : this includes RP styles, identities, and boundaries.
- Be your authentic self — Human, Furry, Alien, Animal, or otherwise.
- Voice and text/chat RP are both welcome. Respect communication preferences.
🏡 Personal Space and Privacy
- Respect private homes and rented areas.
- Private spaces allow for more flexible character behavior (e.g., talking pets).
🎭 Character Integrity
- Play true to your avatar:
- Child avatars must act as children.
- Animals must act as animals unless justified by backstory.
- Exceptions apply only within your own home .
⟳ Alts and Identity
- Maximum of two avatars (alts) on sim.
- Alts must be distinct (e.g., not two child avatars).
⚖️ Conflict Resolution
- Address disagreements maturely and privately first.
- If unresolved, escalate to the Sim Owner for mediation.
- Final decisions aim to preserve a peaceful RP environment.
👶 Adult Areas and Content
- Adult areas are restricted to users of age.
- Violations lead to:
- Warning
- Ejection
- Ban
- Always follow Second Life’s Terms of Service .
🔫 Firearms & Weapons
- Carrying weapons requires:
- Sim-issued license
- Completion of a training course
👥 Department Leadership
- Department Heads work closely with the Sim Owner.
- They are responsible for division management and community health .
- Leaders must model respectful and fair behavior .
Roleplay Opportunities
At Hopes Arms, we offer a wide array of roleplay themes, from family life to crime RP. Participation in all themes is optional. For action-based RP, you may choose to wear a damage system .
